Tell us about You. Where are you from? Family? Friends? Anything you'd like to share
I am 53 years old. I grew up in Lincoln Nebraska and lived there for 25 years. I moved to state of Illinois and have lived here for 28 years. I am a family man who loves his wife, children, and 5 grandchildren. I was in the Air Nation Guard for 8 years then in the private sector of aviation for 4 years after the military. I have family all over the country and I am very much blessed to have so many.
What prompted you to go into Healthcare?
I was in the auto manufacturing industry for 13 years and then decided to do a career change and went into Respiratory Therapy. I have now been in the Respiratory Therapy field for 13 years and counting.
Why did you decide to start Traveling and what was your first assignment like?
A Respiratory Therapist and a Nurse that traveled both gave me information and what it was like to be a traveler. It took a few years but I finally made the leap and started traveling and have loved having more control over my work life and pay as a private contractor than any time in my life. I have been a Respiratory traveler for 3 years and have enjoyed each hospital that I have worked at.
What is your favorite thing about Traveling?
The freedom to choose which hospital I want to work at and what work schedule (days, nights, and hours). The ability to take time off between contracts for any purpose. To meet and make new friends at each hospital. The most important aspect would be my agent David Kroft who makes sure all of my contracts go smoothly. Without David Kroft and his efforts my traveling career would not be as rosy as it is.
What is the hardest part about traveling and how do you overcome it?
For me it was learning a new computer system for hospital's charting system, many are different even if they use the same brand of software.
All of the hospitals were very good about getting me trained on their systems so it was not too hard to overcome it.

How long have you been traveling? # of assignments? Locations? Traveling goals?
I have traveled for 3 years and have had five contract jobs with two having multiple contracts. So far, I have worked in Illinois and Indiana. My current goal it to keep on traveling.
